BFS
Pharma MachineryBFS (Blow-Fill-Seal) is a packaging technology used primarily in the pharmaceutical industry to aseptically produce and package liquid products, such as injections and eye drops, in a single, continuous process.
More about this item:
BFS (Blow-Fill-Seal) is an advanced packaging technology widely used in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries for aseptic packaging of liquids, such as injectable drugs, vaccines, and eye drops. The BFS process involves three main steps:
- Blow: The plastic container is formed by blowing a plastic material (usually polyethylene) into the desired shape using compressed air.
- Fill: The formed container is immediately filled with the product, such as sterile liquid medication, in a controlled sterile environment to prevent contamination.
- Seal: The container is then sealed, ensuring no exposure to the external environment, preserving the sterility of the product.
This continuous, automated process eliminates the need for manual handling, reducing the risk of contamination, and improves efficiency and product safety. BFS technology is preferred for packaging small-dose liquid products due to its high-speed, cost-effective, and hygienic nature. It is commonly used for packaging pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and some food products.
